I had to learn to use the quantum console and mod the game files. I liked the game, but had to put a lot of my own work into it to make it enjoyable. Then you should have an option to start past the tutorial. You will get a false sense of depth and story if you don't SKIP THE TUTORIAL. That is the closest thing to strategy this game has. This time skips so all your workshop stuff gets done and the provinces escalation drops. Then when your low on supplies or gas just queue up your workshop after scrapping everything then fast travel back to base. Instead you should just raid the province for it's unique supplies or caches then move to the next province to do the same. Taking each province by triggering a conflict, taking key points, and fighting in the battlegrounds to win is just poor instruction. The world map tutorial teaches you how to play the hard way. You can destroy a mech or a couple tanks with the firepower needed to destroy the building and you can just stay outside the range of the turrets or in cover. Even if it worked it's a terrible tactic. It teaches you to focus on targeting a building to disable turrets, but that mechanic only works in that 1 mission even though there are many maps with the same building and turrets. The combat mission tutorials introduce gameplay mechanics that only exist in that tutorial mission. That is the only story this game has and it isn't particularly fun. You can play the game play loop in less than 2 hours.
